Three Tigers Selected For Rotary Gridiron Classic

The first post-season all-star game selections have been announced and three Auburn Tigers are on the list of invitees.

Offensive linemen Kendall Simmons and Mike Pucillo along with wide receiver Tim Carter have all been selected to appear in the 2002 Rotary Gridiron Classic presented by Tyco to be held in Orlando, Florida.

This game will showcase college seniors from all over the United States versus players that have ties to the State of Florida, meaning they either played high school or college ball in the Sunshine State. The game will be played on Saturday, January 26 at 2 p.m. at the Citrus Bowl.

Past participants in this game include NFL Pro Bowl quarterback Daunte Culpepper of the Minnesota Vikings and Central Florida, 2000 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Mike Anderson of the Denver Broncos, wide receiver Ron Dixon of the New York Giants, tight end Erron Kinney of the Tennessee Titans and Florida Gators, Darren Howard of the New Orleans Saints and Brad Meester of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The coaches for the game are former NFL head coaches that give their time to show the players a little about what they can expect from life in the National Football League. Past Rotary Gridiron Classic head coaches have included Wayne Fontes, Lindy Infante, Chuck Noll and Buddy Ryan.
