Football Prospect Discusses Weekend In Auburn

This in-state defensive football prospect took an official recruiting trip to AU.

Phenix City, Ala.--Central High School safety Octavious Sumbry said that he enjoyed his official visit to Auburn over the weekend, but hasn't yet decided what he will do on a college choice.

The 6-0, 190-pound, 4.47 free safety and strong safety said that the visit went "all right."

"Quentin Groves was my player host," Sumbry says. "I met some of the other players and we toured the campus. I met with the academic advisers."

Sumbry, a two-year starter for the Red Devils with a reputation as a physical player, says he is not sure when he is going to make a college choice. The previous weekend he visited Troy State. "I am not sure what I am going to do," he says. "I am not sure if I am going to take any more visits. I just don't know yet."

The defensive back said the highlight of the weekend was spending time with Tommy Tuberville and the other members of the coaching staff. "They are good people and I enjoyed getting to talk to them," he said. "Overall, it was a good visit. I had a good time."

Sumbry had 77 tackles and two interceptions as a senior and four catches for 79 yards in limited duty at receiver.
