Talented Multi-Sport Athlete Picks Auburn

This big defensive lineman, who came into the recruiting picture late for the Tigers, signed on the dotted line Wednesday.

Pensacola, Fla.--Six-foot-three, 280-pound defensive tackle Tyronne Green made it official at a ceremony at Woodham High School on Wednesday where he signed his National Letter of Intent to play football for the Auburn Tigers.

The big defensive lineman, who missed several games due to injury this season, was named to the All-Area team after racking up 34 tackles, three tackles for a loss, three sacks and nine quarterback pressures in shortened duty.

Green, who wasn't heavily recruited until late in the process due to not immediately receiving a qualifying ACT score, chose the Tigers over Southern Miss, Central Florida and South Florida after the got a qualifying ACT result.

He is also a standout in basketball who was a key player on the 2003 Woodham state championship team.
