Leon Hart Signs With The Tigers

This blue chip prospect was the subject of an intense recruiting battle.

Columbia, S.C.--A player regarded by many as the top offensive line prospect in the South this year signed scholarship papers with Auburn on Wednesday.

Leon Hart, a 6-5, 285-pound prep All-American from Spring Valley High School, was the subject of an intense recruiting battle that was narrowed to three colleges--Auburn, Ohio State and hometown South Carolina. Hart eliminated the Buckeyes before picking the Tigers over South Carolina.

Hart, who is from the same high school that sent starting linebacker Travis Williams to Auburn, took his first official visit to Ohio State in December and said he liked that trip a great deal. He also took an official visit to Georgia as well as South Carolina.

Hart says he plans to study electrical engineering at Auburn and AU's program in that field is a prime consideration in his choice of the Tigers.

He is expected to challenge for playing time at offensive tackle when he arrives at Auburn.
