AU Football Lettermen Sponsoring Baseball Clinic

Auburn, Ala.--It's that time of year again when boys and girls start swinging bats and catching fly balls. The Jeremy Simmons Memorial Baseball School, sponsored by the Auburn Football Lettermen Club, will give players ages 5 to 13 a chance to receive a full day of instruction on Saturday, Feb. 28 at Lee-Scott Academy Baseball Field.

This event is being held to create and support an endowment to honor the memory of Jeremy Simmons, a student-athlete and 2001 Lee-Scott Academy graduate. The cost is $85 payable to Auburn Football Lettermen Club. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the schooling is from 8:30 to 4 p.m.

The instruction will consist of several ways for players to improve their skills in stretching, fielding, sliding, catching, hitting, bunting, throwing and much more. Players are asked to bring a glove, cleats, $6 for lunch, water bottles, snacks and a bat and helmet if available.

The instructors are coaches from the Boys of Baseball-National Travel team, members of the Auburn Football Lettermen Club and friends of Jeremy Simmons.

Players will receive sound instructional drills and verbal feedback for personal improvement. Players will have an opportunity to learn, practice and demonstrate baseball skills.

To apply, call one of the contacts listed below and confirm participation. Arrive at the field early to complete the application process and pre-register or sign up the morning of the clinic.
