Big Georgia OL Names Favorites

Michael Harness of Columbus, GA is a 6-4 and 300 pound offensive line prospect that is looking at several schools in particular. Does one school have the edge?

Michael Harness is an OL with a very nice frame from Pacelli High School in Columbus. The big man names an early favorites list.

"I like Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Maryland, and Vanderbilt. Then I got Louisville, Southern Mississippi, and Florida," Michael Harness said.

Did Michael grow up a fan of any particular school?

"I'm an Auburn fan now. My dad is a big Auburn guy. Growing up, I watched Bobby Bowden and the Seminoles. I think everybody did."

Despite his allegiance to the Tigers and the Noles, Harness insists he has no current leader. What are some of the factors that he will use to help determine exactly who that leader is in the future?

"First is academics, then the coaching staff. I'll also look at the facilities such as the practice fields, the locker room, the weight room, and the stadium. I really like Jordan-Hare, and Georgia has a nice stadium too."

What will Michael be working on the most before he gets to college?

"The big thing I need to work on is my feet. I'll probably have to move to guard, and you have to be quicker to play guard than tackle."

I could only imagine how much fun I would have if I was a 6'4 300lb Junior and got to run around like an animal on Friday night just manhandling guys half my size. Harness gets to experience that every time he steps on the field, and believe me, he's definitely living it up.

"I take pride in blocking and putting the other guy on the ground. You get him down there and say little things to him to make sure he knows he's going to be down there all night. My goal is to have 6 pancakes a game next year."

Michael boasts a 345lb bench, and a 450lb squat. He also does well in the classroom with a 2.95 GPA. Harness would like to major in Architecture/Design, or Sports Management when he gets to college.
