Clemson, S.C.--Auburn dropped a 1-0 decision to FSU in the opening round of the NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament on Friday.
The 19th-ranked Tigers were making their first appearance in the event and end their season with an 11-8-1 record. The Seminoles, who improved to 15-7-1, will play on Sunday in the second round.
The game's only goal came in the 58th minute when Camie Bybee headed the ball past Auburn keeper Megan Rivera inside the near post.
"It was disappointing today," said third year Auburn head coach Karen Richter. "We came out flat in the second half and Florida State did a great job taking advantage of that. They scored a great goal and we did not show enough on offense to win the match."
