Tigers Add Pair Of Women's Basketball Signees

Auburn has picked up its third and fourth women's basketball signees to join the women's basketball team.

Auburn, Ala.--Auburn has added a pair of spring women's basketball signees to go with its two signees from November.

Aileen Rossouw, a 6-0 center from Plano, Tex., High School, has signed with the Tigers along with 6-6 center Becky Wood from Bozeman High School in Montana.

Rossouw averaged 12.8 points and 7.8 rebounds as a senior to earn All-Collin County honors. She is projected to be a forward in college. Wood, who just started playing competitive basketball as a senior, is a developmental player who is expected to be redshirted this coming season.

Both of the players were recruited by the staff of Joe Ciampi prior to the arrival of new head coach Nell Fortner, who has taken over the program after Ciampi announced his retirement following 25 years as head coach of the Tigers.

Auburn also had a verbal commitment from 5-10 guard Giuliett Ancora from Victoria, Australia, however, with the change in coaching staffs she is expected to consider other options.

Auburn's early signees are 6-2 center Alexis Ogubie (13 points per game) from J.O. Johnson High in Huntsville and 5-10 guard Sparkle Davis (19.1 points per game) from Paidea High in Atlanta. Both earned All-State honors as seniors after signing with the Tigers last November.
