Running Back Receiving Attention From SEC, ACC

Auburn is one of the colleges that interests this athletic football prospect from Atlanta.

Atlanta, Ga.--Anderson Russell is a good looking running back prospect out of the Marist School in Atlanta. He has already picked up one ACC offer, and he hopes other schools will follow suit once they watch him in action this season.

"I have an offer from Duke right now," Russell says. "I like Duke, Florida, Auburn, Alabama, North Carolina State, Clemson, Oklahoma and Georgia Tech right now. I will narrow down my schools list after the summer is over."

What is the War Eagles star looking for most in a school? "I want a place that can give me a good education, and who also has a solid football team as well," he says. "I'd prefer not to go too far from home if I can."

Anderson had to split time with two other outstanding running backs as well as the AAAA player of the year, Sean McVay, in the backfield a year ago, but going into this his senior season, Russell will be the clear number one guy. What does he feel he brings the most of to the table for college recruiters?

"Just good size, strength, and speed," he says. "I'm going to get a lot more touches, and I'm excited about that. Our entire offensive line graduated, but these new guys have been working very hard, and they are going to do a good job for us this season."

What will be his goals during his last year of school? "Of course, I want to win another state title," he says. "I also want to improve from last year and learn how to block and do the little things better."
