Prospect Gets Lots Of Attention, But No Offers Yet

More than two dozen colleges have contacted this two-way football prospect.

Jackson, Miss.--There are surprises in all facets of recruiting. Sometimes I am surprised at players that have two dozen spring offers, but in this case, I am surprised by the fact that Anthony Johnson reports no offers yet. That's going to change before all is said and done.

"I haven't gotten any offers yet," Johnson says. "I'm getting letters from about 25 different schools right now, and coaches from Nebraska, Samford, LSU, Ole Miss, Southern Miss, Mississippi State, Tennessee, and Alabama stopped by last week. My favorites are LSU, Mississippi State, Auburn, Ole Miss, and Alabama. Ole Miss is recruiting me the hardest, but LSU is probably my favorite right now."

Anthony Johnson

Johnson is a versatile prospect who can get it done at either wide receiver or corner. Several schools are going to get a close look at him this summer. He is going to Mississippi State with his team, and he is attending individual summer camps at LSU, Ole Miss, and Southern Miss.

Johnson doesn't have any scholarships lined up yet, but he is much too good of a player for his plate to remain empty.
