Cornerback Has 11 Early Scholarship Offers

Aggressive style of play has been attracting college scouts to check out this rising senior football prospect.

Lovejoy, Ga.--Keith Fitzhugh is a lock-down cornerback. He is a confident player. He will trash talk, get up in your face and more, but he backs every bit of that up and more.

Fitzhugh is a very strong, physical defensive back who likes to hit. He is a guy who can take a team's best player away for a night. He loves to play press coverage. With all these things he has to offer, it's no surprise that he is sitting right now with 11 written scholarship offers.

He has offers from Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, Tennessee and Auburn.

"None of those are ahead of the other," said Fitzhugh. "All are even right now. All schools are recruiting me as a corner. I'm looking at playing time, good coaches and academics to make a decision."

Fitzhugh will attend Vanderbilt's camp this summer and said he is thinking about going to Mississippi State and FSU camps as well. "I think my strengths right now are my speed and strength and my vertical leap and being physical," he said. "I need to work on staying low and back pedaling."

Fitzhugh will make a quicker decision than many because he will graduate early and enroll at the school of his choice in January of 2005.
