Offers Piling Up For In-State Football Prospect

A two-way football prospect has scholarship offers from a variety of SEC programs.

Athens, Ala.--Wes Brown from Athens High School continues to receive additional scholarship offers from Southeastern Conference football teams.

"I have received new offers from Georgia and LSU," the tight end and defensive end says. "They both offered me about two weeks ago. Coach Saban came by the school and offered me the scholarship."

Brown, who is 6-4, 252, now holds nine offers which include: Alabama, Auburn, Duke, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Louisville and Vanderbilt.

The end says he is excited about the latest offers from last season's SEC West and SEC East champions. "It's huge. I mean, it's just a dream come true. Two top notch SEC schools have offered me. It doesn't get much better than this.""

With the new offers in hand, Brown is still hesitant to name a leader. "I'm still going to wait until the summer and get a chance to meet with some of the coaches. I want to learn about the different schools. Right now, I'm considering Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, LSU, and Georgia," he says.

Football camps are a priority for Brown who says, "I'm going to Alabama, Vanderbilt, Georgia, LSU and Auburn. I'm still trying to find a date I can go to the Tennessee camp." This spring, Athens High School was host to several coaches. "Coach Tuberville (Auburn), Coach Croom (Mississippi State), and Coach Saban (LSU) were the only head coaches to come by," Brown says. "Assistant coaches from Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Memphis, and Nebraska also came by."
