In-State Tight End Pilling Up Offers

This in-state tight end has a number of offers already and is interested in the Tigers among others.

Charles Hoke is a member of the South Hot 100, and he has added two more offers to an already impressive list.

"I have recently received offers from Clemson and Duke," Hoke said. "Duke offered me about three weeks ago. They sent the offer through the mail. Clemson offered me over the phone last week"

Coach Dabo Swinney (Clemson wide receiver coach), recruits the state of Alabama for the Tigers and does it well. Clemson has now offered Hoke and teammate, Andrew McCain.

Hoke said that he is interested in what is going on in Clemson. "I know Clemson has been very successful the last couple of years," he noted. "Coach Bowden is a really good coach."

The 6-7, 225-pound tight end could have the opportunity to play with a family member if he chooses the Duke Blue Devils. "I have a cousin, Ryan Wood, from Buford, Georgia, that will be playing for Duke next year," Hoke explained. "It would be cool to play with him."

Hoke also added that The Blue Devils are interesting because of more than just football. "I like Duke because they are known to have a great academic program," he said. "All the coaches I have talked to have been very nice to me."

Hoke is not ready to name a leader, however. "I'm going to wait until after the summer when I have a chance to go to some camps and visit," the South Hot 100 member noted. "I have a broad list of schools right now including Alabama , Auburn, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, North Carolina, and Clemson. There may be a few more, but those are all I can think of right now"

Hoke said that he knows what he will look for when he makes his visits. "I want to find a place where I fit in and where they will throw a lot to the tight ends. I'm going to see how interested coaches seem in me and the atmosphere of the campus."

This weekend, Hoke will travel to his first camp at Ole Miss. He also plans to camp at Alabama, Vanderbilt, and possibly Georgia Tech and Auburn.

Even with all of the early attention, Hoke said he does not plan to make an early commitment. "I probably will wait," he explained. "It is too early for me to say what I will do. I probably will not make a commitment by the end of the summer."
