AU Giving In-State Receiver Plenty Of Attention

One of the state's more highly regarded football prospects is hearing from the Tigers and other major programs.

Pelham, Ala.--Montez Billings is one of the top wide receiver prospects in the state of Alabama for the class of 2005 and he claims a handful of impressive offers to prove it.

Who has made his top five to this point?

"I like Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, Clemson and Ole Miss," the 6-3, 175-pounder says. "All of them have offered me except Clemson, and I don't really have a leader right now."

What are the most important factors for Billings when choosing a school? "I want a nice campus with a good program and facilities. I'd like to stay close to home."

Who has been recruiting the standout WR the hardest to this point? "Auburn is after me the most," he says. "They have been sending me the most letters and telling me to come to camp."

Although the Tigers are encouraging Billings to attend their camp, the only one he plans to be at right now is Georgia in the middle of July.

Billings is keeping busy getting ready for his senior seaosn. "I'm training three to four times a week to improve my strength. After that I'll start taking my five visits and I'll have a decision once my season is over."

Billings will take his second crack at a qualifying test score this weekend.
