South Hot 100 Lineman Likes Tigers Among Others

This big offenisve line prospect from Florida lists Auburn among his top five.

When I first got a chance to see Simon Codrington in April, he only had two offers at the time. After watching him at the MSL Combine in Miami, it was easy to see that he was going to have many more coming once the spring evaluation period rolled around.

"I have about 12 offers in writing," Codrington said. "My favorites right now are probably Miami, Auburn, Florida, NC State, and West Virginia."

What does the South Hot 100 Offensive Tackle have to say about the teams on his list?

Miami - "They are close to home, and they sent a lot of players to the NFL."

Auburn - "The coaches are very personable, and they were the first school to offer me."

Florida - "They are an SEC powerhouse. They're close to home and have great facilities."

NC State - "They are recruiting me the hardest right now. Coach Amato is great to talk to."

West Virginia - "I like the coaching staff there, and I think they are an up and coming program."

Early playing time may play a factor in Codrington's decision, but a redshirt year is almost certain to be in his future no matter where he signs.

He is a long, tall prospect with the feet and reach of a basketball player. He has a competitive drive and is one of the top line prospects in the south this year.
