Big Fullback Prospect Taking His Time

This Columbus, Georgia prospect has quite a few offers on the table already and is taking his time before narrowing his list.

Columbus, Ga.--Jerrell Mabry is one of the top fullback's in the south and so far he's been taking his time with recruiting.

Is he any closer to naming a final list of favorites now?

"I'm still not ready to name a top five or anything yet," Mabry said. "I'm looking at teams like Miami, Georgia Tech, Georgia, Alabama and Auburn."

What stands out about each of those schools?

Miami: "They are thin at running back. I believe I could come right in there and play."

Georgia Tech: "I like their style of offense. They run a lot more than they pass."

Georgia: "I like the versatility of their backs. They run and throw to them a lot."

Alabama: "I like their style of play. It's just straight ahead power football."

Auburn: "It's real close to home and I'd have my family near by."

Where will the big fullback be camping this summer?

"I'm going to Georgia on July 9th and 10th. I'm also going to Auburn's senior camp as well."

What is Mabry looking for most in a school?

"Academics is the first thing I'm looking at," he explained. "I also want to know whether I'll fit into their offense or not."

When can we expect to have a firm top five from the west Georgia standout?

"I didn't expect to have 10 or 12 offers this soon, so it's been a little overwhelming," Mabry said. "I'll have it narrowed down to a final five schools or so in a few weeks."

All of the schools recruiting Mabry have offered him as a fullback except for Florida State, who is recruiting him to play defensive tackle.
