QB Plans To Attend Auburn Football Camp

This high school quarterback will likely move to the other side of the line of scrimmage in college.

Warner Robins, Ga.--Brandon King plays quarterback on the high school level, but he projects as a defensive back in college.

The Houston County High standout recently attended the senior camp at UGA. Did he leave with an offer from his previously favorite school?

"I balled out up there," he says. "I ran a 4.5 and I beat Nick Kyles. They didn't offer me though. Coaches said they would reevaluate me in the first three games."

Has this changed things at the top of his list? "I like Florida and Georgia as my top two now. I'm also looking at Clemson and Auburn."

King says he will take a closer look at Auburn this weekend when he attends a one-day camp on the AU campus.

Why are the Gators and Dawgs on top? Commenting on Florida, he says, "I like the coaches down there. They're real cool and down to earth."

Commenting on the Bulldogs, he says, "That's my hometown team. I'll always love Georgia."

King, who is 5-11, 175 pounds, has also camped at Florida this summer. "I went to the first Florida camp and I pulled my hamstring but they offered me at free safety anyway. I'm going to Auburn this weekend and then that will be it."

What is the Central Georgia star looking for most in a school? "Education is the most important thing. I also want to get some playing time early."
