Line Prospect From MBA To Attend Auburn Camp

This offensive line prospect from Tennessee has a variety of college offers going into his senior season.

Nashville, Tenn.--Joseph Birdsong is a 6-4, 275 offensive lineman who has already picked up four nice scholarship offers. He has now shaken up his top five as well. Who remains on the list?

"I like Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Wake Forest and Auburn," he says. "I have offers from Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest and Mississippi State."

Commenting on his favorites, Birdsong says:

Ole Miss: "They had a real good season and are doing good things over there. The coches seem like good guys."

Vanderbilt: "I like the academics there and the ability to play in the SEC is very big."

Tennessee: "They have a lot of tradition and a prestigious program. Playing in front of 100,000 fans is great."

Wake Forest: "Pretty much the same as Vandy. They went to a bowl game a few years ago and beat one of those Oregon schools I believe."

Auburn: "I went over there and watched practice. It was really nice. I like the small town of Auburn and it seemed like a nice place to spend my college years."

Birdsong says academics will play a major role in his college choice. "I want a place I can prosper after football and get playing time within my first few years. I'm also watching how the coaches conduct themselves during the process."

He is visiting Auburn for a one-day camp on Saturday. "I haven't been able to go to any camps yet," he says. "Auburn will be the only one and I'm going there this weekend."

Joseph is a legacy at Vanderbilt and it will be interesting to see what factor that plays in his decision, if at all.
