Receiver Already Has Offers To Choose From

This Gerogia receiver, who has a number of offers already on the table, talks about recruiting and lists his top four.

Atlanta, Ga.--Douglass High School is full of talent this year, and one of those talents is star wide receiver, Greg Smith.

The wide receiver said he has received several offers over the past few months.

"I have received a bunch (offers)," Smith notes. "Schools like Alabama, Auburn, Duke, Wake Forest, Oklahoma State, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and UConn, have all offered me. Georgia Tech was the last school to offer. They offered me about three weeks ago."

Smith added that out of that large group four schools stand out early.

"My favorites are Alabama, Duke, Auburn, and Georgia Tech," he said. "I don't have a favorite. They are all about equal."

Smith also said he knows what he likes about each school he is considering.

Auburn: "They got a new offensive coordinator. I heard they will be running the west coast offense. That would give me a lot of chances to catch the ball."

Alabama: "Alabama is just coming off of probation. I know I would be able to go in and play early. I believe I could go in a make a difference."

Duke: "They need a big play receiver. I really like their wide receivers coach."

Georgia Tech: "They have a great quarterback. They need someone to throw the ball to."

The 6-3, 190-pounder only went to one camp this summer, but he did make a few visits.

"The only camp I went to was Clemson," Smith explained. "It was an alright camp. I have visited Georgia Tech and Auburn. I am going to Duke this Friday."

The receiver also noted that he is in no hurry to make his college decision.

"I will probably ride it out until after my senior season," Smith said. "I want to see who shows the most love for me. I want to go somewhere I can make a difference."

Fall practice has begun at Douglass High and Smith is fired up about this week's practice.

"We began practice last week," he explained. "Monday will be the first day that we gear it up. I am fired up. I can't even go to sleep."
