Summer Football Workout Photo Gallery Seven

Photos of a variety of Auburn football players are featured as they take part in preseason workouts.

Redshirt freshman cornerback Courtney Denson, who played quarterback in high school, is improving at defensive back and could see plenty of playing time this fall.

Junior middle linebacker Kevis Burnham is looking for playing time in 2004 after suffering a season ending knee injury in 2003 and spending 2002 as a partial qualifier who could practice but not play.

Will Herring, who started 11 games last season as a redshirt freshman, has taken on a leadership role over the summer and has been helping coordinate the defense in voluntary workouts where the coaches cannot be present. Herring finished spring drills number one on the depth chart at free safety.

Jake Slaughter, who is lined up in the slot position during voluntary workouts, will not carry the ball much in Al Borges' new offense, but will do a lot of blocking and receving out of the backfield.

The tight end position could play an expanded role in the Tigers' offense this season and Cooper Wallace (right) and Kyle Derozan (left) should benefit from that change.
