Football Recruit Plans To Visit Tigers

This speedy football prospect discusses his interest in Auburn and other colleges.

Mocksville,N.C.--Davie High School features two Division I-A football prospects in tight end Ted Randolph and running back James "Cooter" Arnold. Both "War Eagles" share very similar qualities when it comes to their approach to football, but recruiting is a different story.

Randolph ended things early with his verbal commitment to Wake Forest in July, but Arnold is in no rush to make a decision. He has early scholarship offers from Auburn, North Carolina, East Carolina and Clemson.

"I'm not going to make any decisions until the end of December, beginning of January," he says. "I'll probably see what I have then and I'll make my decision then."

Arnold, a running back prospect, does plan to take his official visits during his senior season. Although nothing has been formally scheduled yet, there are three schools the 5-foot-11, 180-pounder believes will be definite stops.

"Auburn is one," says Arnold, who attended a summer camp at AU. "Then I'll probably take one to Clemson and I'm wanting to go visit Tennessee."

Cooter and Randolph kick off their senior seasons this Friday at home against Northwest Guilford. Arnold figures to star in the secondary and at quarterback for the War Eagles.
