2005 Baseball Schedule

Auburn, Ala.--The 2005 Auburn baseball schedule, which includes 36 games at Samford Stadium-Hitchcock Field at Plainsman Park, was announced by first-year head coach Tom Slater on Thursday.

Auburn's schedule is highlighted by 32 games against 2004 NCAA Tournament, including 12 contests against 2004 College World Series participants.

The Tigers will open the 2005 season with a weekend series at Plainsman Park against Hofstra on Friday, Feb. 4 at 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 5 at 4 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 6 at 12 p.m.

Auburn's non-conference schedule will also include three-game home series against Virginia Commonwealth, Elon, Clemson, and VMI.

The Tigers will play a three-game set at Florida State, Feb. 11-13, marking Auburn's first regular-season trip to Tallahassee since 1984.

The non-conference slate also includes home-and-home games against Georgia Tech and Troy State and non-conference home games against UAB, Samford, Mercer and South Alabama.

The Tigers open SEC action March 18-20 when they host Tennessee for a weekend series. Auburn will also host conference foes Arkansas, Florida, Ole Miss and Alabama. Conference road series include trips to LSU, Mississippi State, Kentucky, South Carolina and Georgia.
