Defensive Line Prospects Says AU Is His Leader

Georgia prep star says Auburn leads several other SEC teams.

Fitzgerald, Ga.--Rodney Milsap is one in a long list of big-time defensive linemen football prospects in the Peach State this year. He names a list of four schools and a brand new favorite.

"I'm looking at Georgia, Florida, Auburn, Tennessee and a couple of more schools right now. All of them have offered me a scholarship, but I'm leaning to Auburn right now," Milsap said.

What has placed Coach Tommy Tuberville's squad at the top? "I really like their coaches and the surroundings on campus," Milsap says. "It just makes me feel comfortable. Auburn feels like home to me."

Two colleges stand the best shot to catch the Tigers. "Georgia and Florida are right behind Auburn," he says. "I like Georgia because that's my hometown team. I like Florida because they've been my team since I was little."

Milsap's family is favoring Auburn as well. "My whole family wants me at Auburn," he says. "My mom really likes it because it's a quiet town and there's not much partying going on. My daddy likes it because they gave me a hat to wear and I don't wear hats so I gave it to him. He wears that thing all the time."

What is Rodney looking for most in a school? "I just want a place who's going to help me both academic and football wise."

In his opening game last Friday, Milsap finished with 13 tackles, one sack and a forced fumble. Not a bad start for a very good football player.
