In-State Prospect Likes In-State Schools

This North Alabama prospect talks about the recruiting process and his first football game of the season.

Huntsville, Ala.--Careg Bonner is one of the top wide receiver/tight ends in Alabama. Alabama was the early leader for Bonner, but Auburn is now giving a lot of attention to this Huntsville High standout and his recruitment looks to be a two team race.

"It is still close between Alabama and Auburn," Bonner says. "Neither school has a lead. Auburn is recruiting me the hardest right now. They send me a letter just about everyday. Alabama and Auburn are both recruiting me as a wide receiver and tight end."

When asked about a decision, Bonner replied, "I am still going to wait until after my season before I make my decision."

This weekend, Bonner will travel out-of-state to attend his first game.

"I am going to the Kentucky at Louisville game," he notes. "The only other game I know I am going to right now is the Auburn/LSU game."

In a win last week against Lawrence County, The tight end says he saw limited action, but will be ready to go this week.

"I only played the first half. I got cramps in my calfs and just didn't go back in the rest of the game," he explains. "We play Johnson this week at home. I will be ready to go this week. We should win."

Last Thursday, Huntsville defeated Lawrence County 16-12.

Bonner is also considering Michigan, Kentucky, Louisville, and Mississippi State.
