Linemen Hearing From Auburn, Other Colleges

A report is featured on a football prospect from Georgia.

Lincolnton, Ga.--Alex Wideman is a 6-3, 278-pound lineman from one of Georgia's top high school programs, Lincoln County. Wideman plays both sides of the ball for the Red Devils as he lines up at guard on offense and tackle on defense.

Since the season has begun, interest has picked up in the big lineman. Who is showing interest and who are his favorites? "I am getting a lot of letters from SEC and ACC schools," Wideman says.

"I get the most letters from Georgia, Auburn and Georgia Southern though. Both Georgia Southern and Auburn have called me in the last week, too."

Who does Mr. Wideman want to list as his favorites? "Georgia, Auburn and Miami are my favorites," he says. "Those would be my top three, but I am open to schools who want to recruit me."

Wideman is a big, strong, physical lineman who will end up at offensive guard on the college level. In the weight room, Wideman puts up 325 pounds on the bench, squats 505 pounds and power cleans 275 pounds.

On the academic side, Wideman has an 82 numeric average and plans to re-take the SAT in October. He will also take the ACT in November. Wideman is a prospect that could rise up recruiting charts as we go through the next few months.
