Two-Way Prospect Planning Second Trip To AU

This big wide recevier and safety prospect, who is having a strong senior campaign, is heading to the Plains again this weekend.

Pinson, Ala.--Terrell Smith is a 6-2, 205-pound wide receiver and safety prospect from Clay-Chalkville High School, whose stock began to rise rapidly after some strong camp performances this summer.

Right now, the two-way player is claming nine offers and is hearing from all of those colleges quite often. "It is pretty much the same," Smith says about his offer list. "I have offers from Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Clemson, LSU, Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee and Southern Miss."

The senior already made a trip to Auburn for the LSU game and says he really liked the close game and enjoyed the Tiger walk. He also adds that he is heading back down to the Plains this weekend to see Tigers play on Homecoming vs. Louisiana Tech.

Terrell Smith is shown working out at an Auburn football camp this summer.

Smith also says he is planning on checking out a few more college games this season as well. "I am going to the Alabama-Auburn game, and I think both Alabama and Ole Miss are playing at home next week so one of them," he notes. "And, I want to make it up to a Kentucky game."

As for his list of favorites, Smith says that he still likes Alabama, Ole Miss and Clemson as his top three and puts Auburn fourth on his list.

So far this season Clay-Chalkville is off to a 4-1 start and Smith says his team is building on some recent momentum. "We had a good game last week," he says about his team's win over Hillcrest. "We had a lot of young guys step up. The week before that was our momentum builder for last week and on into this week and for the rest of the season."

He adds that he was ill last Friday night, but still got into the game for a while and was quite productive. "Yeah, I got in and played in the second half," Smith explains. "I played two series on offense and one series on defense. I had seven catches for 129-yards."

For the year, Smith has been quite productive on both sides of the ball. "I have close to 450-yards receiving and one touchdown," he says. "I have two interceptions on defense."
