Peach State Fullback Close To A Commitment?

This big, physical player from Georiga says he may be close to making his college decision.

Griffin, Ga.--Ahmad Mayo is still holding two written offers form Auburn and South Carolina. However, the senior's season has not developed the way he would have liked it to due to injury.

But, Mayo is back healthy now and is looking to turn it up a notch as he leads Griffin High (6-1) towards the playoffs.

A few new teams have joined the mix and started recruiting him, but the hard-nosed, physical fullback says he may be close to ending his recruitment.

"I am getting a lot closer to making my decision," Mayo said. "I really thought I would wait a lot longer to make my choice, but I am pretty close now."

Who may be on the verge of landing the talented back?

"Auburn definitely is my leader. They have been for a while. I am really looking hard at Auburn right now."

"After Auburn, it would be South Carolina, Georgia Southern and Tennessee."

What new schools have come on lately?

"Ole Miss and Mississippi State have come out of nowhere and really started to recruit me hard," Mayo notes. "They called and requested film, and after that they started calling and sending a lot of letters."

When could Mayo have his decision?

"It could be some time soon, real soon," he explains. "Can't really say a date or anything, but I would say within the next month."
