South's Top Linebacker Has Top Two

One of the best football players in the South has been trimming his list all fall and is down to three finalists and a top two.

LaGrange, Ga.--The name Tray Blackmon gets tossed around everyday by recruitniks across the south and even the country. Blackmon, who is one of the top linebacker prospects in the country, is known for his punishing hits on quarterbacks, bone jarring hits on receivers coming across the middle and the electrifying speed to chase down running backs from behind.

Blackmon is a wanted man, but he only has three teams on his list right now, with two of them above the other.

"I just came off a trip to Auburn and it was great," Blackmon said. "It was a pretty good trip and I will probably visit them officially as soon as the season is over."

Last time Scout.com spoke to Mr. Blackmon, he listed Georgia as his leader, is that still the case?

"Yeah, they are still leading, but put Auburn right there with Georgia," he explains. "They are my top two. Florida State is the only other team I am really looking at. LSU is still in there a little, but it's mainly those three."

Will this National Hot 100 linebacker officially visit the Dawgs, Tigers and Noles?

"I am not sure," he said. "I know I will visit Georgia and probably Auburn. I am not sure about Florida State."

What are Georgia, Auburn and Florida State recruiting him to play?

"Georgia wants me at safety, Auburn and FSU want me at linebacker," Vlackmon explained. "I like them both and I don't care which one I play."

Blackmon has worked hard at LaGrange to become the player that he is, but he said now he is focused on another State Championship and making the necessary score on the SAT and/or ACT within the next two months.

The LaGrange High standout said he plans to make his decision on Countdown to Signing Day in early December.

One of these three teams will get an early Christmas present from one of the elite players in all of America.
