Campbell Named To Walter Camp Watch List

Auburn, Ala.--Senior quarterback Jason Campbell has been named as one of the 10 "Players To Watch" for the 2004 Walter Camp Player of the Year Award.

On the strength of an outstanding senior season, Campbell has skyrocketed up the charts this year in leading Auburn to a perfect 9-0 record and number three national ranking. He has completed 65.9 percent of his passes and thrown for 14 touchdowns with just three interceptions.

He ranks first nationally in yards per passing attempt (9.97), third in passing efficiency (172.8) and third in yards per completion (15.12). Auburn is 27-9 in games Campbell has started in his career and 22-6 in his 28 consecutive current starts. Campbell is 7-4 against Top 10 teams.

The rest of the list has Cedric Benson and Derrick Johnson from Texas, J.J. Arrington and Aaron Rodgers from California, Adrian Peterson and Jason White from Oklahoma, Matt Leinart from USC, Braylon Edwards from Michigan and Alex Smith from Utah.

The winner will be announced on Dec. 9 on ESPN's Sportscenter.
