Auburn, 12-3, slipped to 0-2 in SEC play while the second-ranked Vols improved to 2-0 and 13-1 overall.

Auburn sophomore center Tia Miller led Auburn with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Sophomore guard Nancy Derrick added 10 points.

Senior Michelle Snow led the Lady Vols with 18 points.

Tennessee led 40-20 at halftime with much of the margin built during a 13-0 run to the delight of a crowd of 7,891 at Thompson-Boling Arena.

"They were ready, both offensively and defensively, for anything we threw at them," Auburn Coach Joe Ciampi said. "Early on I was concerned about our ability to score and they were able to disrupt what we wanted to do." His Tigers hit just 30 percent from the field.

Auburn's road trip continues with a 1 p.m. CST tipoff at Kentucky on Sunday.
