"The Alabama coaches have stuck with me since the beginning," Sharrief told Scout.com. "I love Coach Shula and Coach Ball. They talk to me more than just about football, they talk to me about college and life."
The 5-10, 190-pounder got an in-school visit from Auburn assistant coach Don Dunn on Friday and emerged from that meeting without an official visit date set for Auburn, he told Inside the Auburn Tigers on Friday.
"We just talked about a lot of different things," Sharrief said of the meeting with the AU defensive line coach, who recruits for the Tigers in north Alabama.
Sharrief said he had been considering only Auburn and Alabama and does not plan to take any other official visits except for one he has lined up to Tuscaloosa on Jan. 7th.
With Sharrief no longer pledged to the Tigers, Auburn has 12 public verbals.
