Tigers Close In On Playmaker

This South Florida star says Auburn is his leader at following a trip to Florida.

Miami, Fla.--The Auburn Tigers continue to move up the list on one of the top wide receivers in the South as Devin Aromashodu returned from a trip to Florida this weekend to tell Inside The Auburn Tigers that while the trip was good he wants to be a Tiger or at least that's what he wants right now.

"It was cool," he tells Inside The Auburn Tigers of his visit to Gainesville. "I've kind of made a decision but my dad likes Florida so I'm going to have to talk to him. My decision is that I want to go to Auburn. I have to talk it over with my dad. Florida was cool but I don't know. I'll have to talk to my dad."

Saying that he'll know this week which school he'll attend, Aromashodu and family will have a long talk about each school before announcing the final choice.

A visitor to Auburn this summer for a camp, Aromashodu is known for his high-flying acrobatics when the ball is in the air. With a vertical leap in excess of 40 inches, this 6-2, 185 pound ball hawk was a wanted man in this year's recruiting wars. Choosing between Auburn, Florida, North Carolina State, Michigan State and Ohio State, Aromashodu says that he just feels Auburn might be the right place for him.

"I just like the quarterback situation," he says. "Jason Campbell is a young quarterback and the one they are bringing in, Brandon Cox."

Also the addition of new offensive coordinator Bob Petrino could turn out to be a major influence in his decision. Known for throwing the ball all over the field and utilizing playmaking receivers to the fullest, Aromashodu says he thinks it's going to be exciting to play in Auburn's offense the next four seasons.

"When he was at Louisville I saw that offense and really liked it."

Tiger Ticket Extra: The Auburn coaches first witnessed Aromashodu's talents over the summer when he was a visitor to one of the many football camps the coaches provide. Showing a flair for the dramatic and steady hands, it didn't take him long to catch the eye of the coaching staff. His pick-up would be an excellent one for a team needing difference makers at receiver...Auburn should make a strong push at Aromashodu as members of the coaching staff are expected to make an in-home visit with him Wednesday night.
