Golston Ready To Make His Pick

One of the South's most heavily recruited defensive linemen talks about his finalists.

Tyrone, Ga.--It's decision time for defensive tackle Kedric Golston and Auburn's coaching staff let him know that he was wanted with a final push on Thursday night.

Head coach Tommy Tuberville made an in-home visit along with five other Auburn assistant coaches, Golston told Inside the Auburn Tigers on Thursday night.

The 6-4, 260-pound defensive tackle has narrowed his choices to Auburn, Georgia and Tennessee. He says he will announce that decision on Jamie Newburg's Countdown to Kickoff television show that will be telecast on Saturday morning.

"The visit with Coach Tuberville and the Auburn coaches was nice," Golston says. "I enjoyed it a lot. Coach (Eddie) Gran, Coach (Don) Dunn and Coach (Terry) Price were there. There were six of them in all."

Commenting on Auburn, where he took his official visit last weekend, he says, "Auburn is a great situation for me," he says. "Because of their numbers, it is a must play situation. I like the fact that Georgia is a program on the uprise and it does have a good history. At Tennessee, you get to play before 102,000 or 103,000 people every Saturday."

Those are the only three colleges he is considering. "I am ready to make my decision and move on," Golston says. "My main thing is where I feel comfortable at. Wherever my heart is and wherever God wants to me go will be the main factor."
