Antone Smith Talks About Florida Visit

Perhaps the nation's top running back is still unsure of where he will attend college after a weekend visit to Florida.

Pahokee, Fla.–-One of the nation's top running back prospects continued his recruiting journey with a visit to Florida over the weekend and says that the visit went good, but he's still not close to a decision.

Speedy Antone Smith from Pahokee High has already tripped to Auburn and Miami (Fla.) and this weekend he visited Gainesville to check out the Florida Gators and new coach Urban Meyer. He says although the visit went well he's still planning to make his decision on signing day.

"It went great," Smith tells Inside the Auburn Tigers. "It was a pretty good visit. It was all right. I would rate the visit a ‘9'. It was an all right visit. I'm still planning to announce on signing day."

Smith earlier on his visit to Auburn.

Dominating from the tailback position despite his 5-8, 185 frame, Smith uses blinding speed and surprising strength to run around, through and over defenders on his way to the end zone.

This season he rushed for 2,814 yards and 44 touchdowns in just 12 games and Pahokee won the state championship. In the title game he rushed for 276 yards and three scores and his team won going away for the second straight season. He rushed for over 5,000 yards in his career at Pahokee.

Smith offers an intriguing blend of speed and strength. Smith says that he doesn't have a leader at the moment between Auburn, Florida, Miami and Florida State and he plans to visit the Seminoles next weekend. He will announce his decision on ESPN on signing day.
