Juco Prospect Needs More Classwork

An update is featured on an Auburn football recruit.

Auburn, Ala.--Wide receiver Prechae Rodriguez, a December signee who planned to participate in spring drills at Auburn, is going to have to go back to junior college before he can join the Auburn football team.

Prechae Rodriguez

Rodriguez, a 6-4, 194 wide receiver with 4.4 speed in the 40, signed with the Tigers in December after graduating from Coffeyville, Kan., Community College and planned to participate in spring drills at Auburn. However, because of a new rule that requires junior college players to have 40 percent of their degree work completed in a declared major he has to take more classes before transferring to Auburn.

The wide receiver is expected to sign again with Auburn on Feb. 2nd and arrive in Auburn this summer with three years to play three seasons after redshirting one season at Coffeyville. Rodriguez earned second team All-Jayhawk Conference honors.

The Tampa, Fla., native had 39 catches for 553 yards and two touchdowns last season for a 10-2 team.
