Trott narrowed his choices to Auburn, Alabama and Miami. Trott was a key recruiting prospect for the Crimson Tide this season, but like most of the top in-state prospects he decided to sign with Auburn.

The big tight end caught 63 passes for 1,163 yards and 17 touchdowns as a junior and 49 passes for 944 yards and 13 scores as a senior. He also made 51 stops as a defensive end to go along with two sacks and an interception.

Trott was named the Alabama Gatorade Player of the Year and the Class 4A Back of the Year as a senior.
