Another In-State Recruiting Victory For Tigers

This defensive lineman faxed in his letter of intent to become a part of the Auburn football program on Wednesday.

Mobile, Ala.--The Auburn coaches received a fax Wednesday morning with the signature of the Alabama Class 5A Lineman of the Year, Antonio Coleman.

Coleman verbally committed to the Tigers after his official visit to the Plains on Jan. 16 and made it official on signing day.

At 6-2, 230 pounds Coleman has the potential to play defensive end or linebacker at the college level, but is expected to play with one hand on the ground at Auburn in Auburn's 4-3 scheme.

As an end at Williamson High School, he racked up an impressive 217 tackles and 13 sacks as a junior and 147 tackles, 22 sacks and three safeties as a senior.

Despite his almost unheard of 217 tackles as a junior, he was runner-up for the Class 5A Lineman of the Year award. However, as a senior the speedy end won the award.

Coleman selected Auburn over Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Southern Miss and others.
