Another Rudy For Auburn Football

Defensive tackle Rudy Odom inked with the Tigers on Wednesday.

Mandeville, La.--Defensive line recruit Rudy Odom of Fontainebleau High School in Mandeville, La., has signed with Auburn.

At 6-5 and 270 pounds, Odom was rated as a four-star player by after spending most of his time in opposing teams¹ backfields in his last two seasons. Odum had 65 tackles, five sacks and 27 quarterback hurries as a junior. As a senior he collected 93 tackles, 24 for a loss and 11 quarterback sacks.

Odom drove to the Auburn campus on an unofficial visit to see the Tigers play Georgi, and committed the next day. He took his official visit to Auburn on Jan. 14 and reconfirmed that he wants to attend AU.

He also got a chance to check out the Tigers by attending practices at the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans where Auburn defeated Virginia Tech to finish the season 13-0.

Odom, who played defensive end in high school, will likely play defensive tackle at Auburn. He chose the Tigers over LSU, Oklahoma State, Tennessee, Ole Miss and others.

The last player named Rudi who played for the Tigers, tailback Rudi Johnson, became SEC Offensive Player of the Year and moved on to the NFL.
