Athletic Defensive Back Signs With Tigers

Auburn could get immediate help on defense from this quick defensive back prospect.

El Dorado, Kan.--Junior college cornerback Jonathan Wilhite of Butler County Community College has signed with Auburn.

Like fellow juco signee Prechae Rodriguez, Wilhite had hoped to go through spring drills with the Tigers. He came up three hours short of being eligible to transfer because of a new NCAA rule and must wait until this summer to join his new teammates.

Wilhite (5-10, 175) will have three years to play three at Auburn. He will join friend and former Butler teammate David Irons, Jr., as well as several current Auburn players hoping to earn the starting corner position opposite Montae Pitts.

Originally from Ouachita High in Monroe, La., Wilhite chose Auburn over Oklahoma State, Arkansas, Louisville and others.
