This talented big man made it official and inked a national letter of intent to play for Auburn on Wednesday.
Birmingham, Ala.--Andrew McCain
of Briarwood High School in Birmingham has made his commitment official and has signed a national letter of intent to play for Auburn
At 6-6, 260 pounds, McCain will come to the Plains as a tight end, but has the potential to grow into an offensive tackle. He also played defensive end in high school.
He joins Tommy Trott of Montgomery and Gabe McKenzie of Mobile as tight ends in Auburn's 2005 signee class.
McCain became one of the Tigers' first commitments on Aug. 17 after attending a football camp in Auburn last summer. Of all of Auburn's signees, McCain has put up the most impressive numbers in the classroom--a 4.0 grade point average and a 31 on the ACT.
He picked the Tigers over offers from Arkansas, Florida, Clemson, Ole Miss and many others. McCain was one of the most impressive big athletes at any of the AU summer camps.
