Big Lineman Doesn't Take Visit

An expected visit out of one of the South's top linemen didn't take place this weekend.

Ellenwood, Ga.--Big offensive lineman Marcus McNeill from Cedar Grove High has plenty of options when choosing the school of his future. But the time is narrowing for the 6-8, 316-pound athlete with 4.98 speed in the 40-yard dash.

Expected to visit Athens and the Georgia Bulldogs this weekend, Inside The Auburn Tigers learned on Sunday afternoon that wasn't the case. His mother said that they didn't make the trip and she wasn't sure when he would make his decision, but it could come as late as Wednesday.

With Auburn and Georgia Tech at the top of his list and North Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia still in the running, this is a battle that is expected to go down to the wire and it could be Wednesday's National Signing Day before the final verdict is handed down.

McNeill and his teammate, 6-5, 312-pound offensive lineman Jonathan Palmer, are considered two of the top prospects in the Southeast this year. Palmer is also considering the Tigers along with Georgia Tech, Clemson and North Carolina.
