Blakeney To Speak to Auburn Football Group

Auburn, Ala.--Troy University head football coach Larry Blakeney will be the featured speaker at The Auburn Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame's annual awards dinner on Wednesday, March 16 at 7 p.m. at the Auburn University Hotel & Conference Center.

Area high school scholar/athletes will be honored along with five Auburn University football players.

Long-time Auburn University trainer Hub Waldrop will be honored for his contributions to football.

Three local high school football players will be honored--Khalilee Lee from Auburn High, Matthew Cannon from Opelika High and Curt Cope from Lee-Scott.

Auburn University football players Karibi Dede, Lee Guess, Will Herring, Tommy Jackson and Ben Obomanu will be honored as scholar/athletes.

Guest speaker Blakeney is a former Auburn University quarterback and assistant coach, who spent 14 years on the AU staff. He is the winningest head football coach in Troy University history and led the Trojans to their first Division I-A football bowl game last season.
