Recent changes in parking and tailgating restrictions have not been universally well received by Auburn fans. The forum is designed to allow those who regularly attend Auburn's home football games to provide suggestions on gameday planning for the 2005 season and beyond, says John Hachtel, AU's assistant vice president for Communications and Marketing and chairman of the university's Gameday Committee.
"We want to make the football gameday experience as enjoyable as possible for those who invest their time and money in supporting Auburn football," Hachtel says. "At the same time, we have to be mindful of safety concerns and the best interests of the university and the campus.
"This forum will allow us to go to the fans and discuss with them ways that we can accomplish all of these goals. We invite all Auburn football fans to attend and participate."
Fan forums have already been held in Auburn, Birmingham, Columbus, Ga., and Montgomery. Gameday officials say they already anticipate making some changes that have been suggested at early meetings.
