In State Battle for Alabama Corner?

Kevin Felder of Clay-Chalkville is a cornerback prospect that had an outstanding day in the North/South Junior All-Star game in Alabama in December. He looks to be an in state battle, and he has already been to see his two favorite schools.

"I haven't gotten any offers yet," said Kevin Felder, "but I've been getting letters from teams like Alabama, Auburn, Missouri, Nebraska, Southern Miss, and Mississippi State. I went to Alabama's Junior Day, and I got to take a tour of the campus and meet the coaching staff."

Felder also got time to check out Auburn last weekend.

"I got invited to Auburn's Junior Day, but I didn't get to go. I did get to go to Auburn's Spring game though. We met at the coliseum, and we got to hear Coach Tuberville talk with all of the recruits. We took a tour of the facilities; then we went to the stadium to watch the game. We met Ronnie Brown, Cadillac Williams, and Jason Campbell. We got their autographs and took pictures with them."

Felder had nine interceptions on the season and returned five punts for touchdowns in addition to having a tremendous All-Star game. What schools is he looking at the hardest right now?

"My Top 3 is Auburn, Nebraska, and Alabama. Auburn is an SEC Powerhouse. I like the Veterinarian School, and my uncle Lionel James went there. At Nebraska, I like their overall academics; also, the fans love their Cornhuskers there. I grew up an Alabama fan and always watched them on TV."

Felder plans on taking in the Auburn and Alabama summer camps this year.

"They're close to home, and they are the schools that I like the most."

Felder is a physical corner that isn't shy of making the big hit supporting the run. He had 32 tackles in addition to his nine interceptions last year, and it seemed as if he got at least half that many in the North South All-Star game.
