Mississippi State Football Game Moved To Thursday

Auburn, Ala.--ESPN has picked up the Auburn at Mississippi State football game, which is being moved from Saturday, Sept. 21st to Thursday the 19th.

That contest is the fourth on the 2002 Auburn schedule and will be the second conference game following the Sept. 14th league opener in Auburn vs. Vanderbilt. The Tigers will open the season on Monday Sept. 2 in Los Angeles vs. Southern Cal. The Tigers are playing 12 regular season games this season for the first time in school history.

This will be Auburn's sixth time to play on Thursday night for ESPN with the Tigers winning four of the previous five contests. With the schedule change, Tommy Tuberville's Tigers will be challenged by playing their first four games in an 18-day period.

Auburn players are participating in winter workouts while the coaching staff is preparing for spring drills, which will start on March 1st and run through the A-Day spring game on April 6th.
