Jackson Picks Penn State

A basketball prospect who looked at the Tigers is headed to a Big 10 school.

Panama City, Fla.--Juco point guard David Jackson, who took a mid-week official visit to Auburn, has picked Penn State over the Tigers.

A native of Maryland, where he played at Beltsville High before going to junior college in Florida, Jackson led an 18-10 Gulf Coast Community College team in scoring at 18.2 points per game. He also averaged 6.4 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.2 steals per contest.

The 6-2, 195-pound Jackson hit a very impressive 55.3 percent of his 94 three-point shots as a sophomore. Overall, he made 53.1 of his field goals and hit 82.8 percent of his foul shots.

He also took official visits to West Virginia and St. Bonaventure.
