AU Signee Asked to Compete For U.S. Team

Lake Charles, La.--Auburn women's basketball signee Keshonda "Keke" Carrier has been invited to represent the United States this summer.

The six-foot-seven center from LaGrange High School is one of 15 players invited to play for the United States Under 19 team that will also compete in the World University Games.

Carrier, who was named Louisiana Miss Basketball as a senior, was asked to play on the U.S. team even though she couldn't compete in the trials because she chose to attend her high school graduation ceremonies. She must survive a cut that will drop the roster to 12 players.

A two-time Louisiana Class 4A Player of the Year, she averaged 24 points and 10 rebounds per game as a senior.
