TV Coverage Set For Opening AU Games

Auburn, Ala.--Game times have been set for Auburn's football season opener and SEC opener. Both contest will be televised.

The Tigers resume their old rivalry with Georgia Tech in a game that will kick off at 7:45 p.m. CDT on Sept. 3rd from Jordan-Hare Stadium.

A week later, Mississippi State will visit Auburn for a game that will kick off at 11:30 a.m. and will be televised regionally by JP Sports.

Auburn will take a 15-game winning streak into the season after finishing second in the major polls following a 13-0 2004 record.

The Tigers are 32-23-2 in games they have played with ESPN coverage and are 15-6 in JP televised games.

AU officials announced on Monday that the Tech contest will be the "All Auburn, All Orange" game. They are asking that AU fans wear orange to Jordan-Hare Stadium that day.

No other start times or television coverage has been announced for Auburn's games.

Auburn is 47-40-1 all-time vs. Tech in a series that started in 1892. The two teams were SEC rivals and continued to play after the Yellow Jackets joined the Atlantic Coast Conference. The annual series ended with a 20-10 AU victory in 1987. The two teams didn't play again until 2002 when the Yellow Jackets defeated AU 17-3.

Auburn holds a 54-22-2 lead in the series against divisional opponent Mississippi State. AU will be going for its fifth straight victory vs. the Bulldogs after winning last year's game 43-14.
