Prep School Guard Signs With Tigers

A prep school standout originally from Cincinnati has signed to play for the Tigers beginning next season.

Auburn, Ala.--Looking for help in the backcourt Coach Jeff Lebo and the Auburn Tigers have added another signee for next season with the addition of guard Quantez Robinson from Laurinburg Institute in North Carolina.

A 6-3, 190 combo guard that can play both the point and shooting guard, Robinson averaged 10.2 points per game last season for Laurinburg and helped the team to a perfect 40-0 record. He was one of 15 players from the school to sign a Division I scholarship for the upcoming season. His team averaged 101 points per contest and outscored the opposition by 40 points per game.

"I'm excited about Quantez's decision to join our program," Lebo said. "He comes from a very high level and successful program at Laurinburg. He will give us size and versatility in the backcourt."

Robinson, who attended Withrow High in Cincinnati before heading to Laurinburg, was an All-State performer as a senior after averaging 12 points per contest and helping his team to a perfect 20-0 season.

Robinson becomes Auburn's ninth signee for next season joining McDonald's All-American Korvotney Barber, Rasheem Barrett, Joey Cameron, Josh Dollard, Jarvis Hill, Furman Quan Prowell, Michael Woodard and USC transfer Emanuel Willis.
