Decision Time Near For State's Top QB Prospect

Auburn, Ala.--The state of Alabama's top quarterback prospect, Neil Caudle of Spain Park High, says he will announce his college choice on Monday in Birmingham.

Caudle, who was on the Auburn campus on Saturday watching but not participating in prospect camp, has previously participated in camps at Auburn.

After the camp he met with AU quarterback coach and offensive coordinator Al Borges and defensive ends coach Terry Price, who recruits the Birmingham area for Auburn.

"I am going to announce my college choice on Monday at 4 p.m. on NBC 13 (Birmingham)," Caudle said on Saturday.

Neil Caudle is shown at an Auburn camp.

The QB says that in addition to the Tigers his favorites include Louisville, Michigan, Miami and LSU.

"It will be a good thing to get the recruiting done with and get things going for the season," Caudle says.

The quarterback and his team will be competing in a seven-on-seven passing camp that will run Monday-Wednesday at Mountain Brook High School.

Caudle missed five games as a junior after suffering a knee injury, but was still able to put up strong numbers. He was 129-200 for 1,634 yards with 15 TDs. He also rushed for 424 yards on 43 carries with five touchdowns.
